Managed or self-hosted
LaraDep comes in two options. Both have the same features — templates, guided deployment, AI assistant, project management. The difference is only where the instance runs and who manages it.
Managed option
The instance runs on my side. You sign in and start immediately — no installation, no server configuration, no maintenance. Updates happen automatically.
Suited for:
- Fast start without technical preparation.
- Teams that do not want to manage their own infrastructure.
- Situations where running your own instance does not add value.
Self-hosted option
The instance runs on your server. You install, manage, and update it. Data stays with you.
Suited for:
- Situations where data must not leave your infrastructure.
- Advanced users who want direct access to template management in the database.
- Organizations with internal security requirements.
Five questions to help you decide
- Do you want to start immediately without installation? → Managed.
- Must data stay on your infrastructure? → Self-hosted.
- Do you want to edit templates directly in the database? → Self-hosted.
- Do you lack capacity to manage your own instance? → Managed.
- Not sure which to choose? → Start with managed and switch to self-hosted if needed.
For the technical installation of the self-hosted option, continue to the Docker quick start page.
Next step: Continue with workspaces and security and then a contact.
